ArrivalStar Calls Off Dogs In Public Transit Patent Suits

Law360, New York (August 22, 2013, 2:51 PM ET) -- ArrivalStar SA has agreed to cease litigation against public transit agencies after striking a deal to settle a suit brought by the American Public Transportation Association seeking to nix the company's vehicle-tracking patents, the APTA announced Wednesday.

The APTA brought the suit in New York federal court in retaliation against ArrivalStar's repeated targeting of transit authorities over the last several years, arguing that the public agencies cannot be sued for infringement.
