Lawsuit Targets NCAA, Helmet Maker Over Death Of Player

Law360, New York (August 23, 2013, 3:55 PM ET) -- The family of a Frostburg State University football player who died in 2011 after suffering a head injury during practice sued the NCAA, the college and helmet maker Schutt Sports on Thursday, alleging they contributed to the player’s death.

The lawsuit is the latest in a slew that have been filed against the NCAA, the National Football League, equipment manufacturers and other sports-related groups as more is understood about the serious nature of head injuries.
