SAIC Wins $1.76B NASA Medical Contract After Protest

Law360, New York (August 23, 2013, 6:59 PM ET) -- Science Applications International Corp. on Thursday won a $1.76 billion contract for biomedical, medical and health services in support of all of NASA's human spaceflight programs at the agency's Johnson Space Center in Houston, wrestling away an award that had initially gone to rival Wyle Laboratories Inc.

The contract, which begins Oct. 1, has a five-year base period and two option periods that could extend the contract through 2023, according to NASA. The contract is an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract with cost-plus-award-fee task orders.
