By Karlee Weinmann (August 26, 2013, 3:26 PM EDT) -- The top executive at mammoth investment firm Guggenheim Partners LLC said he is interested in buying the Los Angeles Times from Tribune Co., according to weekend reports from the paper and others. Mark Walter, whose firm bought the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team last year in a blockbuster deal, spoke to reporters before the team took on the Boston Red Sox at Dodger Stadium on Friday night, saying he believes the paper is undervalued and would pursue a purchase at the right price. The investor also expressed interest in scooping up the Chicago Tribune, another Tribune Co. paper, in a move he said would help increase diversity and quality of information in the print-media scene....
