Prada Joins Fight Against Gender- and Age-Based Duties

Law360, New York (August 27, 2013, 3:24 PM EDT) -- The importer of Italian luxury clothing, shoes and accessories Prada SpA on Saturday joined the chorus of clothing designers and retailers who have launched constitutional challenges to the different tariff rates the U.S. government levies on clothing and footwear based on gender and age.

Filed in the U.S. Court of International Trade, the suit alleged the different duties assigned to the same types of items depending on whether they made were for men, women or children violated the Fifth Amendment and the Constitution's Equal Protection Clause...
