DOJ Wants More Info, Docs On $2.2B Gannett, Belo Merger

Law360, New York (August 26, 2013, 3:10 PM EDT) -- Gannett Co. Inc. and Belo Corp. on Thursday were asked to hand over more documents and information to the U.S. Department of Justice as it continued reviewing their planned $2.2 billion merger — a deal that would make Gannett the country’s fourth-largest owner of major television network affiliates.

Gannett and the Texas-based TV company said they would respond promptly to the department’s second request for information and continue cooperating with the DOJ inquiry into the transaction, which Gannett has said would create a "super media group"...
