Dell, HP Latest Targets In Stragent Suits Over Network Patent

Law360, New York (August 27, 2013, 7:41 PM ET) -- Dell Inc. and Hewlett Packard Co. on Monday became the latest companies targeted in lawsuits by Texas-based Stragent LLC, which claims the computer giants have infringed on its computer networking patent.

In two separate complaints, Stragent, which has a history of suing major technology and automobile companies, claims Dell and HP violated its patents by “making, using, offering for sale, and/or selling within the United States, and/or importing into the United States” electronics which use a "cyclical redundancy check," a type of device error correction....
