Adidas Accused Of Treading On Fitness Sensor Patent

Law360, New York (August 27, 2013, 4:27 PM EDT) -- Adidas America Inc. and its North American subsidiary were sued Monday in Colorado federal court for allegedly infringing a patent that allows athletes to track their pace and distance.

The suit was filed by Lafayette, Colo.-based MSPBO LLC, a patent commercialization company that specializes in patents related to measuring fitness information. MSPBO claims that Adidas, through several of its miCoach products, is infringing U.S. Patent Number 6,744,375, a “device and method for determining and displaying travel or fitness quantities of a user of a sports equipment."...
