Challenges To 'Gay Conversion' Bans Face Long Odds

Law360, New York (August 28, 2013, 6:55 PM ET) -- Recent bans in New Jersey and California on psychiatric services aimed at changing a child’s sexual orientation will likely survive looming constitutional challenges, according to experts who likened so-called gay conversion therapy to medical or legal malpractice and said the prohibitions reflected well-established state powers to protect minors.
