China Isn't Targeting Foreign Cos., Antitrust Officials Say

Law360, New York (August 27, 2013, 3:39 PM ET) -- Chinese antitrust officials have claimed their investigations don't target foreign companies but instead are part of the country's efforts to ramp up enforcement of its five-year-old competition law, Chinese media reported Tuesday.

Investigations into foreign baby-formula producers by the National Development and Reform Commission, which has authority over cartel and pricing matters, have made news in recent weeks, along with rumors of other probes into international companies.
