Prom Dress Retailer Can't Escape Rivals' Antitrust Suit

Law360, New York (August 28, 2013, 2:41 PM ET) -- An Illinois federal judge denied on Wednesday dress seller Peaches Boutique's bid to escape a multimillion-dollar lawsuit alleging the retailer has violated U.S. antitrust laws by using its dominant position in the Chicago area to push out its competitors.

U.S. District Judge Amy J. St. Eve denied Peaches' motion to dismiss a complaint brought earlier this year by upstart dress seller Hannah's Boutique Inc. Judge Eve said at this early stage in the litigation, Hannah's Boutique has pled a plausible antitrust case against Peaches.
