5th Circ. Voids Ex-La. Lawmaker's Racketeering Sentence

Law360, New York (August 29, 2013, 1:24 PM EDT) -- The Fifth Circuit on Wednesday vacated the seven-year sentence of former Louisiana lawmaker Renee Gill Pratt, who was convicted of racketeering for her connection with political operative Mose Jefferson's misuse of more than $1 million in grant money, ruling it was based on the wrong guidelines.
