Bankrupt AgFeed To Hand Off US Units For $79.2M

Law360, Wilmington (August 29, 2013, 9:21 PM ET) -- Hog farmer AgFeed Industries Inc. got the green light to sell its U.S. operations Thursday, when a Delaware bankruptcy judge signed off on a multiparty deal valued at more than $79.2 million.

Purchasers High Plains Pork LLC, Cohoma Pork LLC and Murphy-Brown LLC entered the scene Monday after beating out stalking horse The Maschhoffs LLC at auction, and the sale represents a “great result for the estate,” AgFeed attorney Robert S. Brady of Young Conaway Stargatt & Taylor LLP said.
