Fla. Bill Would Boost Corporate Tax Break

Law360, Miami (August 29, 2013, 5:06 PM ET) -- A Florida state senator introduced a bill Wednesday seeking to increase the state's corporate income tax and bank franchise tax exemptions, a measure that would further one of the main economic initiatives of Gov. Rick Scott.

Sen. Dorothy Hukill, R-Port Orange, filed S.B. 134, which would raise the income tax exemption to $75,000 from $50,000. The bill mimics a proposal made last session by Rep. Ross Spano, R-Riverview, in H.B. 401, which died in committee in May.
