NY High Court Jumps Into Fight Over Local Fracking Bans

Law360, New York (August 29, 2013, 1:55 PM ET) -- New York's court of last resort said Thursday it would hear a natural gas exploration company's challenge to a town ban on drilling after judges in lower courts backed the notion that a state mining law does not preempt local laws that keep the controversial practice known as fracking at bay.
