ITC To Investigate Buy-Local Trade Rules In India

Law360, Los Angeles (August 29, 2013, 3:52 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has launched an investigation into numerous Indian policies that allegedly discriminate against U.S. trade and investment, prompted by a request by the Senate Committee on Finance and the House Committee on Ways and Means, the ITC announced Thursday.

Earlier this month, a bipartisan group of lawmakers pushed the ITC to take up a probe of India, saying the Asian nation has unfair practices that squelch trade and pose a threat to intellectual property rights.
