PE Firm Thomas H. Lee Escapes LBO Antitrust Suit

Law360, New York (August 30, 2013, 4:01 PM EDT) -- A Massachusetts federal judge on Thursday dismissed Thomas H. Lee Partners LP from a putative antitrust class action accusing several private equity firms of plotting to hold down the prices of companies they targeted for purchase.

U.S. District Judge Edward F. Harrington agreed to grant Thomas H. Lee summary judgment, ruling that on second look the evidence against the firm wasn't strong enough to support shareholders' claims that the firm conspired with other private equity giants to divvy up leveraged buyout deals amongst themselves.
