Airlines Open To Settle DOJ Merger Suit As Nov. Trial Looms

Law360, New York (August 30, 2013, 4:44 PM ET) -- An attorney for U.S. Airways Group Inc. said Friday that the company was open to settling the U.S. Department of Justice’s antitrust suit over its proposed $11 billion merger with bankrupt AMR Corp., as a Washington, D.C., federal judge set an expedited Nov. 25 trial date for the case.

U.S. Airways attorney Richard Parker said at a press conference Friday that a settlement is still possible in the suit, though they declined to discuss specific details of any proposed agreements.
