New Zealand Joins US In Indonesia Import WTO Dispute

Law360, New York (August 30, 2013, 4:25 PM EDT) -- New Zealand has joined the U.S. in a challenge at the World Trade Organization over Indonesian trade restrictions on plant and animal products, the U.S. Trade Representative said Friday.

U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman said in a statement that New Zealand has decided to submit its own request for consultations — the first step in the WTO's dispute settlement process — regarding Indonesia's import licensing system for fruits, vegetables, flowers, juices, cattle, beef and other animal products.
