Waste Co. Sues Philly Over $6B Airport Expansion Land Tiff

Law360, Philadelphia (September 03, 2013, 5:10 PM ET) -- A solid-waste disposal company sued the city of Philadelphia in state court on Friday, contending the city’s efforts to cancel its lease as part of a $6.4 billion effort to expand Philadelphia International Airport are illegitimate and will cost the company $5 million.

Victory Recycling Inc., which subleases a parcel of city land near the airport from the Philadelphia Authority for Industrial Development, attacked the city’s notice to terminate its lease on Sept. 1.
