SEC Sanctions Ex-Madoff Employee Who Fudged Records

Law360, New York (September 05, 2013, 5:50 PM ET) -- A former employee at Bernard Madoff's firm who admitted to falsifying personnel records has been barred by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission from associating with securities industry professionals, according to a Wednesday order.

The SEC filed an administrative order imposing remedial sanctions against Craig Kugel, who pleaded guilty in June 2013 to federal conspiracy and income tax-related charges stemming from his handling of employee records of individuals on the BLMIS payroll who did not actually work for the firm.
