Ambulance Co. Rural/Metro Gets Nod For Restructuring Deal

Law360, Wilmington (September 5, 2013, 8:53 PM EDT) -- A Delaware bankruptcy judge gave his approval Thursday for a key restructuring support agreement between private equity-owned ambulance company Rural/Metro Corp. and many of its creditors aimed at halving its more than $700 million in debt.

Attorneys for Rural/Metro, one of the largest providers of ambulance services in the United States, have called the agreement the “linchpin” of its restructuring process, and U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Kevin J. Carey signed an order that will see a Chapter 11 plan submitted for his approval by Dec. 20....
