Court Remands Baseball Simulation Patent Suit

Law360, New York (February 13, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- An appeals court has remanded a patent infringement lawsuit against Major League Baseball Advanced Media LP for limited jurisdictional discovery and further consideration of the district court's jurisdiction based on that discovery.

DDB Technologies LLC brought the suit against MLBAM, claiming that the company's baseball-related Internet services infringe DDB's patents relating to computer simulation and pattern-matching. Pattern-matching relates to a method of allowing a user to search for particular information about a live event, such as a baseball game.
