Thomson SA, BenQ Settle LCD Patent Dispute

Law360, New York (December 7, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- French electronics maker Thomson SA and Taiwanese technology group BenQ have settled a patent dispute initiated by Thomson over its liquid crystal display (LCD) technology.

Thomson sued BenQ in March in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, asserting its patents for LCD color monitors and analog LCD color television receivers. That was followed by a complaint at the International Trade Commission in Washington, D.C.
