Jacobs Puts Up $1.2B For Aussie Professional Services Firm

Law360, New York (September 9, 2013, 3:27 PM EDT) -- California engineering and construction conglomerate Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. has agreed to buy Australian professional services firm Sinclair Knight Merz Pty. Ltd. for roughly AU$1.3 billion ($1.2 billion) in cash, Jacobs announced Sunday.

Jacobs will snap up Sydney-based Sinclair Knight and its 6,500 employees in the deal, which has an enterprise value of $1.1 billion before adjustments for cash and debt. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of Jacobs' 2014 fiscal year, according to the release by the Pasadena, Calif.-based engineering firm....
