It was McBride and his team of prosecutors who, in November 2009, secured the conviction and subsequent 13-year sentence for former U.S. Rep. William Jefferson, D-La., and in May 2011, secured the conviction of Phillip Hamilton, a former member of the Virginia House of Delegates on charges of bribery and extortion.
