SEC Pushes For Plainer Disclosure Talk

Law360, New York (February 14, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Continuing its push for greater transparency in investment writing, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has voted unanimously to propose amended rules that would force investment advisers to write a narrative brochure in plain English for current clients and potential investors.

The SEC vote on Wednesday, backing rule amendments to Part 2 of the adviser brochure, caps months of discussion about the need for clearer language in disclosure material.
