Verizon To Bring Landline Service Back To NY's Fire Island

Law360, New York (September 10, 2013, 6:11 PM ET) -- Verizon New York Inc. on Tuesday backed away from a controversial plan to replace conventional phone lines on parts of New York's Fire Island with cheaper, Internet-based service after barrier island business owners ripped the technology and regulators demanded details.
