Nationwide Wants Out Of Debt-Letter Privacy Breach Coverage

Law360, New York (September 11, 2013, 2:57 PM ET) -- Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. on Monday asked a New York state court judge to find it has no duty to cover document delivery company PCI Group Inc. in litigation stemming from PCI’s allegedly improper disclosure of consumers’ financial information in debt collection letters.

PCI was hit with a lawsuit in New York federal court in August 2012 by debt collector Central Credit Services Inc. for breach of contract. CCS alleged that as part of its service it occasionally sends letters to holders of delinquent accounts. The...
