The unit boasts a 62,000-mile high-voltage network that clocks in as Europe's biggest, extending from northern France to the southern part of the country. State-owned EDF has sought to divest assets to generate funds to cover much-needed upgrades to its nuclear facilities and bite into its debt pile.
