China Skirts Wire Duties By Modifying Shipments, EU Finds

Law360, New York (September 12, 2013, 3:04 PM EDT) -- Chinese producers of molybdenum wire have circumvented the European Union's anti-dumping duties by shipping wire modified to fall just outside the tariffs' scope, according to the results of an EU investigation unveiled Thursday.

As a result of the investigation, the European Commission expanded the 64.3 percent duty on Chinese molybdenum wire to include the modified version of the product that China has been shipping to the EU since the duties were first put in place.
