CFPB Says Employees Can't Be Forced To Use Payroll Cards

Law360, New York (September 12, 2013, 4:15 PM EDT) -- Consumer protection regulators cautioned employers Thursday not to compel employees to receive wages only on a payroll card — a controversial payment method that often involves fees that can pull hourly workers’ pay to below minimum wage — and to ensure they clearly inform employees about such fees.
