6th Circ. Reverses $1.2M Award In Grease Pump IP Row

Law360, Los Angeles (September 12, 2013, 3:56 PM EDT) -- The Sixth Circuit on Thursday reversed a $1.2 million jury award against Lubecore International Inc. in a suit brought by competitor Groeneveld Transport Efficiency Inc. over Lubecore’s “virtually identical” automotive grease pump, holding that Groeneveld can’t use trademark law to insulate itself from lawful competition.
