EU, Not Germany, Will Review $11.5B Telefonica-KPN Merger

Law360, New York (September 13, 2013, 3:25 PM EDT) -- The proposed €8.55 billion ($11.46 billion) tie-up between the German businesses of European telecom giants Royal KPN NV and Telefonica SA will fall to the European Commission for review, the group's antitrust chief said Friday, shooting down German authorities' plans to conduct the review.
