How To Qualify For Ala.'s Historic Preservation Credit

Law360, New York (September 18, 2013, 6:13 PM EDT) -- On May 9, 2013, Gov. Robert Bentley signed Alabama House Bill 140 into law. The act provides qualifying taxpayers a historic preservation tax credit to be used against Alabama income taxes.

To qualify, commercial or residential property owners must propose and complete a rehabilitation, preservation or development project that meets the act’s numerous statutory requirements.
