WTO Head Stresses Trade Talks In Wake Of Slow Growth

Law360, New York (September 19, 2013, 6:32 PM ET) -- Global trade growth for this year and next is likely to be slower than earlier estimates, the World Trade Organization said Thursday, prompting the head of the organization to repeat his call for advancing multilateral trade negotiations among the WTO's members.

The Geneva, Switzerland-based WTO issued a revised trade growth forecast, predicting a 2.5 percent increase in trade in 2013 and a 4.5 percent increase in 2014. Both estimates are down from forecasts the organization put out in April, which predicted a 3.3 percent growth rate...
