Harris Health Pays $4M In Back Wages To End DOL OT Probe

Law360, Houston (September 16, 2013, 7:36 PM EDT) -- Houston-based Harris Health System will pay more than $4 million in back wages and damages to nearly 4,600 employees to settle allegations that it skirted federal wage and overtime pay requirements, the U.S. Department of Labor announced Monday.

With the deal, Houston-based Harris Health brings to an end a DOL investigation into claims the hospital system cheated 4,573 technicians, nurses and other current and former employees out of appropriate overtime pay and maintained sloppy payroll records in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act, according to...
