TomTom Sues To Protect Vehicle Navigation Patents

Law360, New York (February 15, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The world's largest provider of portable navigation systems, TomTom Global Assets B.V., on Thursday fired off a patent suit against Aisin AW, alleging the company violated four patents for car navigation systems.

The Netherlands-based company filed the action in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, alleging that Aisin AW Co. Ltd in Japan and its stateside distributor AW Technical Center U.S.A. Inc. willfully violated four of TomTom's patents relating to car GPS technology.
