Baxter Wins Bid To Compel FDA Testimony In Plasma MDL

Law360, Los Angeles (September 16, 2013, 9:42 PM EDT) -- Baxter International Inc. won a bid to get a Food and Drug Administration official to testify in multidistrict litigation in which a class of hospitals allege the company and other plasma therapy providers conspired to fix prices, according to an order in D.C. federal court Monday.

U.S. District Judge Rudolph Contreras ordered Dr. Jay Epstein to spend seven hours testifying in the suit, in which a group of hospitals contend Baxter and its rivals teamed up to keep the price of plasma therapy artificially high....
