Google To Buy Power From 240-MW Texas Wind Farm

Law360, New York (September 17, 2013, 6:37 PM ET) -- Google Inc. has continued to beef up its renewable energy portfolio, announcing Tuesday that it's agreed to purchase all the power generated by a planned 240-megawatt wind farm in northern Texas, the technology behemoth's largest green energy purchase yet.

Google said in a blog posting that it's inked a power purchase agreement to buy the entire output of the Happy Hereford wind farm outside Amarillo, Texas, which is being developed by Chermac Energy Corp., a Native American-owned firm based in Oklahoma.
