Commerce Paves Way For Duties On Chinese Hardwood, Plywood

Law360, New York (September 17, 2013, 7:17 PM ET) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce on Tuesday affirmed that China is illegally subsidizing its exports of hardwood and decorative plywood and selling the products at below market value in the U.S., and recommended the imposition of anti-dumping and countervailing duties.

Commerce's International Trade Administration upheld its previous determinations in the case and sent the matter to the U.S. International Trade Commission,  which now must decide if the dumping and subsidization has harmed American companies.
