Monroe Photo Owners Say Judge Misunderstood Settlement

Law360, New York (September 18, 2013, 1:53 PM EDT) -- Owners of photographs of Marilyn Monroe asked a federal judge Tuesday to reconsider her rejection of a settlement with the late starlet's estate, rebutting the judge's claim last week that the agreement was a veiled attempt to erase a previous ruling.

The filing came after U.S. District Judge Margaret M. Morrow said on Sept. 12 that the settlement was a bid by the estate to vacate a ruling that Monroe's heirs had no right to license her image, which the Ninth Circuit affirmed in August 2012....
