Beanie Baby Billionaire Will Cop To UBS Account Tax Dodge

Law360, Chicago (September 18, 2013, 2:20 PM EDT) -- The billionaire behind the Beanie Baby stuffed toy craze will plead guilty to charges that he dodged taxes on $3.1 million of income earned in a secret account with Swiss bank UBS AG, federal prosecutors said Wednesday.

H. Ty Warner, 69, was charged Wednesday with one count of tax evasion for allegedly skipping out on nearly $900,000 of taxes in 2002, but is now cooperating with the Internal Revenue Service, according to a statement from the U.S. attorney’s office in Chicago
