China Pledges $3B To IFC For Emerging Market Investments

Law360, New York (September 18, 2013, 4:05 PM EDT) -- China has agreed to provide $3 billion for joint investments with the World Bank Group in emerging-market, private-sector developments over the next six years, World Bank investment arm International Finance Corporation announced Wednesday.

The funds will be committed in senior loans in a portfolio of IFC-originated loans to emerging market companies, IFC said in a statement. IFC also announced a new syndications program that will allow investors such as China to co-invest with IFC in the emerging market loan portfolio.
