Late July Faces False Ad Suit Over 'Evaporated Cane Juice'

Law360, New York (September 19, 2013, 1:30 PM ET) -- Late July Snacks LLC was hit Wednesday with a proposed class action accusing it of violating state and federal laws by using the term "evaporated cane juice" to denote sugar on its products' ingredient lists.

Plaintiffs Mary Swearingen and Robert Figy allege they purchased a variety of Late July products including crackers, sandwich crackers and chips, and that on each product evaporated cane juice was listed as an ingredient.
