KPCB To Face Sex Bias Trial As Court Scraps Arbitration

Law360, New York (September 19, 2013, 5:01 PM ET) -- A sex discrimination suit against venture capital titan Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers LLC is headed to trial after the California Supreme Court denied on Wednesday the firm's bid to settle the case through arbitration according to its management contracts.

The high court was unconvinced by KPCB's argument that the claims brought by former employee Ellen Pao were covered by management contracts containing arbitration provisions and declined to review the lower court's decision to allow Pao to continue litigating her claims.
