Deals Rumor Mill: RBS, Univision, Versace

By Karlee Weinmann (September 20, 2013, 3:03 PM EDT) -- The bailed-out Royal Bank of Scotland PLC is poised to sign an agreement that would send a bundle of 315 branches to a private equity consortium led by Corsair Capital LLC, sources told Reuters on Friday. The bank's top brass were expected to sign off on the transaction on Friday. The buyer group, which also includes Centerbridge Partners LP, swooped in to provide RBS some relief as it tries to unload the assets in line with an agreement to repay its multibillion-dollar government bailout doled out at the height of the financial crisis. RBS had previously inked a deal that would have sent the banks to Spain's Banco Santander SA, but the buyer pulled out last fall....
