BP Atty Slammed As 'Sloppy' Stays On $10B Emission Suit

Law360, Houston (September 20, 2013, 7:14 PM ET) -- A Texas judge declined Friday to remove as lead counsel for BP PLC a Squire Sanders LLP attorney who the judge had slammed for his defense of the energy giant against a $10 billion suit over toxic emissions.

Galveston County District Judge Lonnie Cox denied a midtrial motion to disqualify Damond Mace as BP’s attorney the day after the judge had criticized Mace as "sloppy" for improperly using evidence to discredit witnesses testifying against his client.
