Forest Sues Mylan, Others To Block Generic Savella

Law360, New York (September 24, 2013, 5:25 PM EDT) -- Forest Laboratories Inc. filed six separate lawsuits Monday against a slew of generic-drug makers including Mylan Inc. and Apotex Corp., alleging their attempts to create generic versions of fibromyalgia treatment Savella infringe its patents.

New York-based Forest claims Mylan, Apotex, Hetero USA Inc., Lupin Ltd., Par Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd. infringed three of its patents when they filed an abbreviated new drug application seeking to manufacture, use, sell or import a generic version of Savella before the patents themselves had expired.
