Long Island Lawmakers Approve $229M Stadium Renovation

Law360, New York (September 24, 2013, 5:54 PM EDT) -- New York's Nassau County legislators on Tuesday approved a $229 million plan helmed by real estate developer Bruce Ratner to renovate the aging Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Long Island and build an entertainment center around it.

The vote brings County Executive Edward Mangano and Ratner closer to realizing their goal to turn the 43-year-old structure into a more profitable hub for shoppers, sports fans and music lovers.
